What We Do

Senior Section

The Senior Section is for young people who are between 11 and 19 years of age. It has the largest number of membership amongst the 4 Sections in The Boys’ Brigade in Malaysia. Through the proficiency awards scheme, our Members acquire skills and knowledge in various aspects of Leadership, Survival, National and Global Awareness and Community Spiritedness. In addition, the Brigade offers the Senior Section with opportunities for exposure and skills development, through leadership development courses, National -level competitions and community service projects.

Awards

As mentioned, the Senior Section members can obtain proficiency awards and recognition, throughout their life in the Brigade. The Proficiency Awards scheme is designed to develop Members in 4 aspects, which are Spiritual, Physical, Educational and Social (as according to how Jesus grew up, mentioned in Luke 2:52).

The Founder’s Award

The Founder’s Award is the highest and most prestigious award in the Senior Section. Those who hold it are also known as Founder’s Men, or Women. Its purpose is to challenge and equip the BB Member. Furthermore, it serves as the Brigade’s platform in nurturing leaders of character, who are passionate, knowledgeable and competent in an integrated and holistic manner.


Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a globally recognised award for youth development, which originated from the United Kingdom (UK). In Malaysia, the DofE is known as the Anugerah Remaja Perdana (ARP), of which, is considered a special award in the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), as well as allows its recipients to gain additional points in the Ministry of Education’s co-curricular system.
