The Primer Section is an integral component of The Boys’ Brigade in Malaysia, and its activities are based on the theme of Service and Leadership. The core age range of the Primer Section is from 19 to 21 years, of which whom are mostly college or university students. The Brigade serves to offer leadership exposures as well as skills development to the Primer Section, through activities that are designed to develop the Members in 4 aspects, which are Spiritual, Physical, Educational and Social (as according to how Jesus grew up, mentioned in Luke 2:52).

The Robert Davis Award

The Robert Davis Award is given to a Member of the Primer Section, who can fulfil its requirements, in terms of Explorations and Adventure activities such as skills of camping, caving and hiking.
